Each year, the Lake Merritt Rowing Club hosts one regatta on Lake Merritt–the Lake Merritt Sprints. In previous years, LMRC also hosted the Head of the Estuary.
As LMRC hosted the US Rowing SW Regionals in 2009 and 2010, the Lake Merritt Sprints did not take place these years, but will resume in the future.
Previous Lake Merritt Sprints, SW Regionals and Head of the Estuary information can be found below. The Lake Merritt Sprints were not held in 2006, due to a boathouse move and renovation, or in 2000, due to hosting of US Rowing Nationals. The Head of the Estuary has been hosted by the Oakland Strokes and Jack London Aquatic Center since 2002.
