Learn to Row Day 2018
Saturday, June 2 from 8am to 12pm.
Come down and join us on beautiful Lake Merritt for a fun day on the water. This is a FREE event,
open to the public, as an introduction to rowing. Sign ups begin at 7:45am. On-site reservations are required on a first come, first served basis. Must be present to register. Come early to secure a seat in a boat!
No previous experience necessary! Sessions are 90 minutes long and there will be multiple sessions.
- Learn how to row both on ergometers (rowing machines) and with experienced rowers on the water
- Have an introduction to rowing equipment and a tour of the LMRC boathouse
- Meet LMRC club members and enjoy light refreshments
- Receive information on lessons, club membership, and the rowing teams at LMRC
Note: Participants must be at least 15 years old. Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
What happens after the session?
If you’d like to take a class to learn even more about rowing and continue to work on rowing on the water, we’ll have information available about our up-coming classes. After gaining a basic level of proficiency you’ll also have the option to become an on-going member of the Lake Merritt Rowing Club or even join one of our teams!
Please contact us with any questions.
