Swim Test Requirement

The Swim Test (PDF) may be signed off by any Red Cross certified Lifeguard or WSI (Water Safety Instructor). If you have current SCUBA or Lifeguard certification, you may submit a copy of the certificate instead of completing the swim test.  Additionally, if you are an active member of a swim team you may submit a copy of your US Masters Swimming Membership Card in lieu of the swim test.

The following is a list of pools that have administered the swim test in the past. You should verify pool hours and any fees associated with administering the test before you go to the pool. Please note that some information listed below may be out of date. Please call the swim center(s) you wish to use to verify their information. **Note: The Oakland YMCA and East Oakland Sports Center do not offer swim tests.
